TUMBULGUM
Set in the beautiful riverside town of Tumbulgum, Northern NSW, this quaint yet beautifully presented home was built by Coakers Building in just four months.
The design, prepared by Jardine Design Space, was a result of many tricky site and client constraints, which included a very narrow site width, flood zoning, privacy issues and budget.
The design emphasis was to create a simplistic, modern and sophisticated home. The introduction of natural timbers, warm neutral material pallet and earthy tones create a sense of homeliness and comfort throughout. High gable windows and large northern glazing draw light throughout the living spaces. The large East facing deck receives an abundance of morning sun, a great space to enjoy morning coffee with uninteruped views of the cane fields and rolling mountains beyond. The unusable ground floor flood zone allows plenty of covered storage and drivethrough access to a rear manshed for all those boys toys.
Meticulously executed with Coakers Building making a lot of the material and finishes selections to ensure budgets were kept in check, we were able to complete the build during a very uncertain time with the global pandemic. It was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget. Great effort all round!
